Introducing Myself - Steve Smart and 2Q Solutions

Hey detailers, I'm glad to be meeting you on the Auto Detailing Network.

I'm a marketing consultant, and I enjoy helping small business owners improve their marketing efforts. I look forward to getting to know you. And I want to help you take your business to the next level. I'll be posting some thoughts here, and I look forward to our discussions.

My real passion is cars and motor sports. I’ve done some detailing in the past as a side business. These days I stick to my own cars. I’m the advertising chairman for our local BMW club chapter, and I’ve done a few high performance driving schools. My personal site is m3pilot.com.

People often ask, "What's the 2Q for?" Here's the answer: I'm typically driven to ask and answer 2 questions.

STARTING TIP:

How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors? Find out what you do exceptionally well and emphasize that in your marketing communications. Where can you stand out among the crowd? It might be more than just one thing. Do you provide a service that your competitors don’t? If you compete on price alone you’re making yourself a commodity and it’s harder to be profitable.

We’ll explore this more in the future, but think about this; If there’s one thing that you consistently do well, make it your promise. When you’ve made and kept your promise, your customers know they can count on you. That’s what keeps them coming back.
